Shigaraki ware is pottery made in Shigaraki Town, a mountain village in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. It is one of the six ancient kilns in Japan and has a history of over 1,200 years. It was designated as a traditional craft by the government in 1976 (Showa 51). The name Hechomon (registered trademark) comes from the Shigaraki craftsman's word for "unusual things." The dimensions, colors, and patterns may vary slightly because they are handmade. Everyday wear vase [Hanakiraku]. This vase combines the earthenware of Shigaraki with simplicity, making it possible to present it in both traditional and modern ways. It has a natural atmosphere that blends in with the living room or dining room, and is just the right size to easily enjoy with inexpensive flowers and garden plants. Use it as you would wear it every day, and wear it until it becomes a part of your life.
