This is a hard capsule type supplement made from Korean red ginseng roots that are 6 years old (only from Pungi and Geumsan, the two major ginseng producing areas in Korea). This product boasts a ginsenoside index of 5mg per gram, which is double the quality standard for red ginseng products set by the Korean public institution MFDS (the rule is that red ginseng products cannot be called red ginseng products unless they contain 2.5mg or more of saponin species Rg1,1Rb1,Rg3 per gram).
The product is characterized by the thick hard capsules that encase the red ginseng extract. It contains 60 capsules, each of which is small at 180mg, but still contains a good amount of red ginseng extract. Another feature is that the capsules are individually divided so you can change the number of capsules to suit your physical condition, such as "I'm tired today, so I'll take 3 capsules," "I'm not feeling particularly unwell, so I'll take 1 capsule," or "It looks like it's going to be a busy day, so I'll take 2 capsules."
Red ginseng has "six major benefits" as determined by the Korean public institution.
- Improves immunity: Red ginseng contains a large amount of acidic polysaccharides, which promote the function of immune cells, NK cells and macrophages.
- Relieves fatigue: More than 34 types of ginseng-derived saponins capture the cause of fatigue and return the body to its original healthy state.
- Improves blood flow: Red blood cells are usually larger than capillaries, and in order to enter them, they undergo a "red blood cell transformation action." However, poor circulation is a phenomenon that occurs because this power is weakened. The saponins in red ginseng help this "red blood cell transformation action."
- Improves memory: Saponins make it easier for red blood cells (oxygen) to be absorbed into the brain, leading to improved memory.
- Antioxidant effect: Activates antioxidant enzymes, which remove active oxygen, which is known to induce aging and cell damage.
- Improves menopausal symptoms: One type of saponin acts as a substance similar to the female hormone estrogen, helping to adjust the body's hormone balance.
