■Masterpiece
Tokoname teapots are beautiful works of art with a deep skill,
and Tokoname has produced many skilled craftsmen.
Each of these craftsmen has their own unique characteristics,
which are greatly reflected in the production of tea utensils.
To honor their achievements and protect traditional cultural heritage,
the government created the title of "Traditional Craftsman" in 1973.
Furthermore, the Japan Traditional Craftsmen Association was established, which exercises its authority to manage and certify traditional craftsmen, and there are currently 36 registered Tokoname ware traditional craftsmen. They continue to explore the path of pottery and seek further progress. ■Tokoname: One of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, a town of pottery steeped in history.
