We have been informed by Japan Post that Thailand’s customs regulations will be revised.
As a result, the handling of international mail items addressed to Thailand will change as outlined below for shipments sent on or after January 1, 2026.
■ Key Changes
Regardless of the transportation method, all mail items arriving in Thailand with a declared content value of 1 THB or more will be subject to import duties.
Mail items with a declared content value of 1 THB to less than 1,500 THB, which were previously exempt from taxes, will now require payment of:
- Import duties
- Other applicable taxes
- Postal handling fees
■ Delivery and Payment Methods
For mail items within the above value range (1–1,500 THB), delivery to the recipient’s address will be completed after payment is made using one of the following methods:
- Payment via QR code
- Cash payment to the postal delivery staff
Please note that when placing orders for delivery to Thailand, customs duties and handling fees may apply.
